‘Very Big’ Deal with India May Be Next, Says Trump After China Trade Pact.

US President Donald Trump recently hinted at the possibility of a “very big” trade deal with India following the signing of a trade agreement with China. Speaking at a White House event focused on promoting a government spending bill, Trump confirmed that the United States had finalized a deal with China but refrained from sharing specific details. He added, “We just signed with China… We have one coming up, maybe with India, a very big one.”

Trump also emphasized that the US would not be making trade deals with every country, stating, “We’re not going to make deals with everybody. Some we are just going to send a letter, say thank you very much. You are to pay 25, 35, 45 per cent.” He explained that while some in his administration favored this approach, others preferred negotiating more agreements. Trump expressed optimism about India, suggesting that both countries had found common ground that could lead to a mutually beneficial deal.

Adding to the momentum, Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick voiced his confidence in the future of US-India trade relations, saying he was “very optimistic” and believed a deal could emerge soon. Meanwhile, India’s Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal confirmed on June 10 that both nations were actively negotiating a fair and equitable trade agreement aimed at benefiting both economies.
