Iran Launches Missiles After Joint US-Israel Strikes
The US-Israel-Iran conflict widened rapidly on Saturday. Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard launched what it called a “first wave” of drones and missiles at Israel. In response, Israel activated nationwide sirens and deployed air defence systems to intercept the projectiles. The escalation followed joint US-Israel strikes in Tehran. Israeli officials described the operation as a pre-emptive move to remove threats. US President Donald Trump confirmed Washington’s involvement and warned that further action could follow. Reports said explosions occurred near offices linked to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, though authorities moved him to safety.
Explosions Rock Gulf Nations
The fallout quickly spread across the Gulf. Bahrain confirmed that a missile targeted the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in the island nation. Witnesses in Kuwait reported sirens and loud blasts near facilities hosting US Army Central. Residents in Qatar also heard explosions in Doha. Meanwhile, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates closed their airspace to civilian flights. Jordan activated warning sirens as a precaution. In Abu Dhabi, falling shrapnel killed one person, according to UAE state media. The casualty marked the first confirmed death in Iran’s counteroffensive.

Airspace Shutdowns and Regional Disruptions
Israel, Iran and Iraq suspended civilian air traffic as tensions escalated. Several international airlines cancelled or diverted flights to avoid risk. In Israel, authorities instructed schools and workplaces in sensitive areas to operate remotely. Iranian officials reportedly restricted mobile networks and disrupted internet access in parts of Tehran. These measures aimed to maintain security and control information flow during the crisis. At the same time, uncertainty grew over the duration and scale of the confrontation.
Houthis Threaten Red Sea, India Issues Advisory
The conflict also drew in regional actors. Iran-backed Houthi leaders in Yemen vowed to resume attacks on Red Sea shipping lanes and Israeli targets. Although they did not release a formal statement, two senior officials confirmed the plan anonymously. The renewed threat raised concerns about global trade and energy supply routes. Meanwhile, the Indian embassy in Israel urged nationals to remain vigilant and follow local safety instructions. As diplomatic tensions intensify, governments worldwide continue to monitor the rapidly evolving situation.
