UAE Reports Over 1,000 Attacks Amid Escalating Gulf Conflict
The United Arab Emirates has confirmed that it has faced more than 1,000 missile and drone attacks since the US-Israel-Iran conflict expanded into the Gulf region. In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the country will exercise its “legitimate right to self-defence” against repeated Iranian strikes. However, Abu Dhabi clarified that it has not changed its defensive posture despite the surge in attacks. Moreover, authorities reiterated that the UAE is not a party to the ongoing war and has not allowed its land, waters, or airspace to be used for operations against Iran.
Drone Strike Hits US Consulate in Dubai
Meanwhile, tensions escalated further after a drone struck the US consulate in Dubai. Officials reported that the attack caused a limited fire at the premises. Emergency teams quickly contained the blaze, and authorities confirmed that no injuries occurred. Notably, this incident follows similar attacks on US diplomatic missions in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. As a result, the United States Department of State announced the indefinite closure of its embassy in Kuwait City and suspended consular services in Riyadh. These developments signal rising risks for diplomatic facilities across the Gulf.
US Issues Level 3 Travel Alert for UAE
In response to the deteriorating security situation, the United States has maintained a Level 3 travel advisory for Gulf nations. The advisory urges American citizens in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and other UAE cities to leave immediately. According to the State Department, travellers should use land borders with Oman or Saudi Arabia if commercial flights remain unavailable. Consequently, US authorities have intensified evacuation guidance as missile and drone threats continue across the region.
Advisory for Indian Nationals
At the same time, the Government of India has issued precautionary guidance for Indian nationals living in the UAE. Officials have advised citizens to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel. Furthermore, the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has urged nationals to stay in close contact for updates and emergency support. As the conflict spreads across West Asia, governments are stepping up diplomatic coordination and safety measures to protect their citizens.
