Trump Repeats Claim of Stopping India–Pakistan War
Former US President Donald Trump has once again claimed that he prevented a war between India and Pakistan. Speaking at a public event, Trump said no one in history deserved the Nobel Peace Prize more than him. He asserted that his actions stopped a rapidly escalating crisis between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. Trump said the situation ended quickly because of his intervention, without leading to nuclear conflict.
Trump claimed that tensions rose sharply and involved aerial combat. He alleged that eight fighter jets were shot down before he stepped in. “I got it done in rapid order,” he said. Trump insisted that his role saved millions of lives and avoided a catastrophic war. He also said that public opinion should not affect recognition for his actions.
Trump Says He Settled ‘Eight Major Wars’
Trump said he had resolved eight major global conflicts during his tenure. He described these wars as long-running disputes that had lasted decades. “Some were going on for 36 years,” he said. Trump argued that stopping wars mattered more to him than praise. However, he repeatedly returned to his claim that he deserved the Nobel Peace Prize.
According to Trump, leaders should receive Nobel Prizes for every war they stop. He claimed that history ignored his achievements. He also said that he acted to save lives rather than to gain political credit. Trump added that several conflicts stood on the brink of escalation before he intervened.

India Rejects Any Third-Party Mediation Claims
India has strongly and consistently rejected Trump’s claims of mediation. The Indian government has stated that the ceasefire understanding with Pakistan occurred through direct communication. Officials have denied any role played by a third country.
The issue traces back to Operation Sindoor, which India launched after the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack killed 26 people. India said it targeted terror infrastructure across the border in response. New Delhi has maintained that national security decisions remain bilateral and sovereign.
Trump Issues Warning on Iran Amid Protests
Trump also spoke about ongoing unrest in Iran during the same address. He claimed protests had spread to cities once considered untouchable. Trump warned that the United States would intervene if Iranian authorities used violence against civilians. “We will hit them hard where it hurts,” he said.
He criticised past US policies and said strong action deterred aggression. Trump said his focus remained on saving lives and preventing wars. His remarks signal a continued effort to position himself as a global peacemaker ahead of renewed political activity.
