A gripping new film, tentatively titled Honeymoon in Shillong, is set to bring a real-life tragedy to the big screen. Directed by SP Nimbawat, the movie is based on the shocking murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, a case that made headlines due to its unexpected twists following his marriage.

The filmmaker revealed that the script is complete, with most of the shooting about 80% planned in Indore, and the rest across different parts of Meghalaya. While the cast remains under wraps, the creators promise the story will focus on themes of betrayal, justice, and regional representation. Raja’s elder brother, Sachin Raghuvanshi, shared that the family has fully supported the project. “We gave our consent because we want people to understand the truth behind my brother’s murder,” he said, hoping the film will clarify who was right and wrong.

Another brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, emphasized the family’s wish to showcase Meghalaya in a positive light, countering its usual portrayal in the media. Director Nimbawat spoke about the emotional core of the story, highlighting Raja’s deep betrayal after marriage and the film’s message about stopping such acts of deceit. With the family’s backing and its powerful themes, Honeymoon in Shillong is set to be a compelling and thought-provoking addition to Indian cinema.
