Late Friday night in Lonavala, a young woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by three unknown men. The victim was walking near Tungarli village when a car approached her. The men inside threatened her, forced her into the vehicle, took away her phone, and tied her hands and legs. Over several hours, they reportedly raped her at different locations while driving around.
The men eventually left her near Nangargaon, where she was found by locals in a frightened and confused state. They took her to a nearby temple for safety and called the police. The Lonavala Police arrived quickly, took her statement, and arranged for a medical examination.
An FIR has been filed against the three unidentified men under sections of the Indian Penal Code including gang rape and wrongful confinement. Police have formed special teams to hunt for the suspects and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area. They are also questioning known criminals in the region to gather more information. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to bring the perpetrators to justice.
