Netflix’s latest weekly viewing figures highlight a major success, with Tyler Perry’s emotional drama Straw emerging as the platform’s most-watched film of the year so far. The film has garnered over 74.2 million views in just two weeks. Starring Taraji P. Henson as Janiyah Wilkinson, a single mother navigating a day of escalating chaos while caring for her ailing daughter, the movie has captivated audiences with its raw emotional intensity and surprising twists. Also featured in this week’s top 10 are a mix of thrillers, documentaries, and animated favourites.

Among the standout titles is K.O., a French action-thriller set in the gritty criminal underworld of Marseille. It stars former MMA fighter Ciryl Gane as Bastien, who is pulled back into danger to help a grieving widow search for her missing child. Mark Monroe’s hard-hitting documentary Titan: The Lost Descent examines the 2023 submersible tragedy, using whistleblower accounts, interviews, and archival footage to uncover the expedition’s fatal flaws. Another notable entry is a Mexican sci-fi romance in which two physicists, transported from 1966 to 2025, grapple with identity and love in a future world.

The top 10 also includes Gerard Butler’s high-stakes thriller Plane, where a pilot and fugitive must protect passengers on a militant-infested island, and a documentary on the 2021 Travis Scott concert tragedy that revisits the crowd surge through survivor accounts and emergency call recordings. Meanwhile, Jerry Seinfeld’s 2007 animated classic Bee Movie continues to entertain audiences with its quirky legal battle between bees and humans. All titles are currently streaming on Netflix.
