Telangana is turning to artificial intelligence to strengthen its fight against drug trafficking. At Bhadrachalam Bridge, a known hotspot for the movement of narcotics, the state’s Anti-Narcotics Bureau has introduced an advanced AI-based surveillance system. This isn’t your usual CCTV setup the new system actively monitors and analyzes activity in real-time, helping authorities spot and respond to suspicious behavior more effectively.
The technology behind this initiative is called AccessGenie, developed by Blue Cloud Softech. Installed at the Bhadrachalam checkpoint, the platform uses AI-driven video analytics to scan vehicle number plates and observe unusual behavior patterns, such as repeated routes, loitering, or erratic driving. These are common red flags in drug smuggling activity, and the system is designed to pick them up quickly.
Once it detects any suspicious activity, the system immediately sends alerts via SMS, email, or WhatsApp to the field teams for swift action. This smart setup allows the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau to respond in real-time, disrupt trafficking routes, and stay one step ahead of drug networks. It’s a major step in combining technology with law enforcement to tackle crime more efficiently.
