Suspected Pak Drones J&K Trigger Border Alert
Security forces detected suspected Pakistani drones along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening. As a result, authorities immediately launched search operations across multiple border districts. Officials told PTI that drones appeared in Samba, Rajouri and Poonch areas. Notably, all flying objects entered from the Pakistan side, hovered briefly over Indian territory, and then returned. Consequently, security agencies increased surveillance in vulnerable sectors. Meanwhile, officials said the sightings raised fresh concerns over drone-based infiltration and arms smuggling attempts, Zoom Chronicle reported.
Suspected Pak Drones J&K Spotted in Rajouri, Poonch
The first drone sighting occurred around 6.25 pm in the Mankote sector of Poonch district. There, troops observed a drone-like object moving from Tain towards Topa along the LoC. Shortly after, at around 6.35 pm, army personnel noticed drone movement over Gania-Kalsian village in Rajouri’s Nowshera sector. As a precaution, soldiers opened fire using machine guns. At the same time, security teams spotted another drone with blinking lights over Khabbar village in the Teryath area. According to officials, the object entered from Dharmsal village in Kalakote and later moved towards Bharakh.

Meanwhile, security forces also detected drone activity in the Ramgarh sector of Samba district at around 7.15 pm. The drone-like object hovered over Chak Babral village for several minutes. Following this, forces launched extensive ground search operations across all affected areas. Teams searched open fields, residential locations and forest patches. However, the searches did not lead to any immediate recovery. Nevertheless, authorities maintained a high level of alert. Additionally, forces strengthened patrolling along the IB and LoC to counter any possible infiltration attempts.

Importantly, the latest drone sightings come just days after a major arms recovery in Samba district. On Friday night, security forces seized a weapons consignment allegedly dropped by a Pakistan-origin drone in Paloora village of Ghagwal area. The recovery included two pistols, three magazines, 16 live rounds and a grenade. Therefore, officials believe hostile elements continue to use drones to push weapons into Jammu and Kashmir. Consequently, security agencies remain on high alert.
