Operation Epic Fury: Full List of US Weapons Used Against Iran
The United States launched a sweeping military campaign, Operation Epic Fury, targeting key Iranian military and strategic sites. According to the United States Central Command, the strikes focused on missile facilities, naval bases and locations near Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s office. The coordinated offensive, carried out alongside Israel, aimed to neutralize immediate threats to US forces and regional allies while reinforcing Washington’s stance on Iran’s nuclear activities.
Strategic Bombers and Fighter Aircraft Deployed
Among the most powerful assets used were B-2 Spirit stealth bombers, capable of penetrating heavily defended airspace. The US also deployed advanced fighter jets, including F-35 Lightning II, F-22 Raptor, F-16 Fighting Falcon and F/A-18 Super Hornet. Electronic warfare support came from the EA-18G Growler, while A-10 Thunderbolt II jets provided close air support. Surveillance aircraft such as RC-135 and P-8 Poseidon strengthened intelligence and maritime operations.
Missile Systems, Drones and Air Defenses
The operation featured long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles launched from naval platforms. The US also used LUCAS suicide drones for precision strikes, marking their first reported combat use. Defensive systems such as Patriot missile system and THAAD were deployed to intercept potential retaliatory attacks. Additionally, MQ-9 Reaper drones supported surveillance and targeted missions. Counter-drone systems were activated to neutralize hostile UAV threats.
Naval Power and Logistical Support
Naval assets included nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and guided-missile destroyers positioned strategically in the region. Ground-based firepower featured the M142 HIMARS system for rapid precision strikes. Refueling tanker aircraft and supply ships sustained air operations, while heavy-lift aircraft like the C-17 Globemaster III and C-130 Hercules ensured logistics support. Central Command added that additional “special capabilities” were also used but were not publicly disclosed.
Operation Epic Fury combined stealth bombers, advanced fighter jets, missile systems and unmanned platforms, highlighting the scale and technological depth of the US military response against Iran.
