Anil Kapoor Steps Into a Powerful Role

The trailer of Subedaar is finally out, and Anil Kapoor commands attention as retired army man Arjun Maurya. Directed by Suresh Triveni, who co-wrote the film with Prajwal Chandrashekar, the action drama promises intensity and emotional depth. The film will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 5.

Set in India’s rugged heartland, the story revolves around illegal sand mining and a region ruled by fear. However, when Arjun Maurya returns, the balance begins to shift. Disciplined and battle-scarred, he refuses to tolerate injustice. As he declares in the trailer, “Fauji hai, seene mein goli jhel sakte hai, beizzati nahi.” The dialogue sets the tone for a gripping showdown.

A Brutal Face-Off and Emotional Conflict

Soon after his return, Arjun’s path collides with Prince, played by Aditya Rawal. What follows is a tense and violent face-off. Meanwhile, his strained relationship with his daughter Shyama, portrayed by Radhikka Madan, adds emotional weight to the narrative.

The film also features Mona Singh, Saurabh Shukla, Faisal Malik, and Khushboo Sundar in pivotal roles. Together, the ensemble cast strengthens the layered storytelling. While the action drives the plot forward, the emotional undercurrents give the film its heart.

Anil Kapoor on the Experience

Anil Kapoor described the role as one of the most demanding of his career. He said portraying Subedaar Arjun required emotional intensity and discipline. Additionally, he highlighted that this marks his first collaboration with Suresh Triveni and Prime Video.

Kapoor also served as a producer on the project. Therefore, he remained involved both in front of and behind the camera. He credited his co-actors and the production team for bringing authenticity and scale to the film. According to him, the story balances raw action with deep emotional conflict.
