Saiyaara, starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, hit theatres this Friday with minimal pre-release promotions no interviews, appearances, or podcasts. Despite that, the film is off to a strong start, with ₹9.39 crore in advance bookings and positive reviews, especially for its music and fresh performances.

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta praised the film’s marketing strategy, calling it a smart move by Yash Raj Films to preserve the excitement for the big screen. On social media, he criticized the current trend of excessive promotions pushed by corporate studios, saying it hurt the film industry more than helped. He pointed to Saiyaara and 12th Fail as examples of films succeeding without PR gimmicks, urging the industry to rethink its approach.

Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani, Saiyaara is gaining attention not just for its story, but also for its fresh release strategy. The film’s music, composed by Tanishk Bagchi, Arslan Nizami, and Faheem Abdullah, has also struck a chord with audiences.
