CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has officially signed with Yorkshire County Cricket Club for the remainder of the 2025 season. The 28-year-old will join the squad ahead of the Rothesay County Championship clash against Surrey, scheduled to take place in Scarborough this July. In addition to his participation in the County Championship, Gaikwad will also be available for the Metro Bank One Day Cup, committing to Yorkshire for the entire domestic campaign.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s IPL 2025 season with Chennai Super Kings was cut short due to an injury, but his form and fitness have since seen him named in the India A squad currently touring England. Although the CSK skipper has not featured in the playing XI for the two unofficial Tests, his presence in the squad reflects his ongoing value to Indian cricket. His move to Yorkshire is expected to provide him with vital match time and exposure to English conditions.
Known for his consistency and adaptability, the Pune-born cricketer has played six ODIs and 23 T20 Internationals for India, earning a reputation as a dependable top-order batter. His versatility will be an asset to Yorkshire as they aim to strengthen their lineup for both red and white-ball formats. With this signing, Yorkshire gains a player with IPL leadership experience and international caliber, while Gaikwad gains a platform to further sharpen his skills in county cricket.
