Radhika Apte recently opened up about her experience with pregnancy and work in the Indian entertainment industry during a conversation with Neha Dhupia on the Freedom to Feed live session. She shared that when she announced her pregnancy to the directors and producers she was working with, one Indian producer reacted coldly and was unhappy about the news. He even insisted she wear tight-fitting clothes on set despite her discomfort during the first trimester. Radhika revealed that she wasn’t allowed to see a doctor when she was in pain, which left her feeling disheartened.

In contrast, she spoke about a positive experience with a Hollywood producer during the same time, who was very supportive. When she mentioned her changing appearance due to pregnancy, he reassured her with warmth and understanding, saying it was okay to look different because she was pregnant. Radhika emphasized that she never expected special treatment, only empathy and basic kindness.
Married to British violinist Benedict Taylor since 2012, Radhika recently embraced motherhood, welcoming her daughter in December 2024. She continues to work actively, with her latest film Sister Midnight released in 2025 and an upcoming role in the English film Last Days, set to release later this year.
