Late last night, Pune Police conducted a raid on a rave party held in a flat inside a lodge in the upscale Kharadi area. Seven people were detained, including Pranjal Khewalkar, who is the husband of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Rohini Khadse and son-in-law of senior politician Eknath Khadse. The party was reportedly disguised as a private house gathering.

The police acted on a tip-off and found five men and two women at the location. During the search, narcotics, hookahs, and alcohol were seized. It was confirmed that the attendees were using drugs, smoking hookah, and consuming alcohol.

Pranjal Khewalkar’s involvement has added political sensitivity to the case, given his connections to influential political families. All seven individuals have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and other applicable laws.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the sources of the drugs and the extent of the network behind these parties. Officials believe more names might come to light as the inquiry progresses.

This incident has raised concerns about the prevalence of illegal and drug-fueled parties in Pune’s affluent neighborhoods, prompting questions about law enforcement, security measures, and political responsibility.
