Patna, Jun 21 (PTI): RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav intensified his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reiterating his “pickpocket” remark and alleging that nearly ₹20,000 crore has been spent on the PM’s rallies in Bihar since 2014. In a sharp social media post, Yadav claimed that around 200 public meetings held by Modi in the state cost an estimated ₹100 crore each. He argued that although these events were presented as government functions, their underlying motive was clearly electoral, especially during the five major elections held over the period.

The BJP responded aggressively, escalating the political feud ahead of the upcoming assembly polls. In Patna, posters mocking Yadav appeared with the slogan “Mera baap chaara chor, mujhe vote do” (My father stole fodder meant for cattle, vote for me), a direct jibe referencing the fodder scam linked to RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav. The poster war marks a significant intensification in the rivalry between the ruling NDA and the INDIA bloc led by Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar.

Tejashwi’s latest comments come just a day after he accused Modi of acting like a “pocketmaar” (pickpocket) over the steep fares of Vande Bharat trains. On Friday, Modi made his fifth visit to Bihar this year—his second in less than a month—addressing a rally in Siwan. According to Yadav, this appearance was Modi’s 51st in the state since becoming prime minister in 2014, further fueling his argument about excessive public spending for political gains.
