Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again topped the global list of most popular democratic leaders, according to the latest survey by US-based Morning Consult. With a 75% approval rating, Modi is ranked as the world’s most trusted leader. The survey, conducted between July 4 and 10, 2025, found that three out of every four respondents had a positive opinion of his leadership, while 18% disapproved and 7% remained undecided.

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, who took office just a month ago, secured the second spot with a 59% approval rating. Despite being new to the role, he received strong support, though 29% of people surveyed disapproved of his leadership and 13% were unsure. The list includes only leaders of democratic countries and is based on rolling daily interviews conducted by Morning Consult across various nations.

US President Donald Trump ranked eighth on the list with a 44% approval score, lower than expected considering his recent election victory. Some analysts believe his policy decisions may have affected his popularity. BJP leaders, including Amit Malviya and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, celebrated Modi’s top ranking, calling it a sign of strong and respected leadership on the global stage.
