The makers of Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, have decided to postpone the film’s release to give it a better chance at standing out. Originally set for July 25, the release was first delayed to avoid clashing with Son of Sardaar 2. However, insiders now reveal the move was also to steer clear of a crowded schedule filled with several romantic films releasing around the same time.
With two major romantic dramas Anurag Basu’s Metro…In Dino and Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara—coming out shortly after, along with Dhadak 2 hitting theaters on August 1, the makers felt Param Sundari needed some breathing room to avoid being lost among similar love stories. The film is now expected to release on either August 29 or September 5, a date that should give it better visibility at the box office.
Directed by Tushar Jalota, known for Dasvi, Param Sundari is described as a heartfelt cross-cultural love story between a young man from North India and a woman from South India. The film marks a fresh pairing of Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor and promises a warm, contemporary romance under the banner of Maddock Films. To make the most of the delay, the team plans to shoot a new promotional song once Sidharth finishes his current projects and adjusts to fatherhood. Fans are eagerly awaiting this fresh and promising on-screen duo.
