Army Expands Preparedness Amid Rising Tensions
The Indian Army’s Western Command has issued a firm warning to Pakistan. Clearly, senior officers signaled that any provocation will invite a “harsher” response. According to Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, GOC of 2 Corps, Operation Sindoor 2.0 is already in progress. Importantly, he stressed that the scale of preparation is much larger this time. He delivered these remarks during the Operational Capability Demonstration in Pathankot, Punjab. Through this event, the Army showcased its combat coordination and rapid strike readiness.
Recalling the Impact of Operation Sindoor
Earlier, India launched Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam terror attack killed 26 civilians. In response, the Armed Forces carried out precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Pakistan retaliated soon after. However, Indian forces struck back by targeting military and air bases. As a result, Pakistan sought a ceasefire within four days. Lt Gen Pushkar described the earlier mission as only a “small sample” of India’s capability. Therefore, Operation Sindoor 2.0 reflects deeper planning and stronger preparedness.

‘No Deterrence from Nuclear Threats’
Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, GOC-in-C of Western Command, reinforced the message. He said Pakistan cannot deter India through nuclear rhetoric. Instead, he accused its leadership of attempting strategic pressure. Nevertheless, he made it clear that India remains fully prepared. The Army stands ready across land, sea, and air domains. If required, it will respond decisively.
Zero Tolerance Policy Remains Unchanged
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh have repeatedly backed the operation. They continue to emphasize India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism. At the same time, military officials highlight enhanced readiness under Operation Sindoor 2.0. Overall, the Western Command’s message is direct and unambiguous. Any aggression, they assert, will trigger a response stronger than before.
