Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a rally in Siwan, Bihar on Friday, strongly criticized Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav over allegations of disrespecting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar during his birth anniversary celebrations. “The whole country saw what the RJD did to Babasaheb’s photo recently. These people will never apologise because they have no respect for Dalits and the backward communities,” Modi said. He contrasted their actions with his own reverence for Ambedkar, declaring, “The RJD and Congress place Babasaheb’s photo at their feet, while Modi keeps him in his heart.”

Intensifying his attack, the prime minister accused the RJD-Congress alliance of pushing Bihar into prolonged poverty and lawlessness during their tenure. He held them responsible for the mass migration of labourers from the state and the systemic neglect that left Bihar trailing in development for decades. “The RJD and the Congress are responsible for the large-scale migration of labourers and the persistent poverty that plagued Bihar,” he stated. Modi further alleged that their governance model prioritized personal gain over public welfare, saying, “They focused on enriching their own families while ignoring the needs of the people.”

Drawing a sharp contrast, PM Modi highlighted the developmental strides made under the NDA government in Bihar. He credited the current administration with bringing significant improvements in infrastructure and governance, aiming to uplift the state’s economy and quality of life. “During the Congress’s licence raj, their leaders became rich, but the public remained poor,” he said, citing PTI. Modi positioned the NDA as a force for inclusive progress, contrasting it with what he described as decades of stagnation under previous regimes.
