Manisha Koirala has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Bradford in the UK, and she couldn’t be happier. The actor took to Instagram to share her joy, posting a picture from the ceremony along with a heartfelt note. She said receiving this recognition, especially during the year Bradford was named UK City of Culture 2025, was a great honour. She also expressed her delight in sharing the moment with Burberry’s Creative Director, Daniel Lee.

In a video posted earlier, Manisha spoke about how she didn’t follow the traditional educational path, but instead learned through life experiences through hard work, setbacks, and resilience. She said the honour means more than she can express and serves as proof that everyone’s journey matters, regardless of how it begins.

Manisha started her career with the Nepali film Pheri Bhetaula and made her Bollywood debut with Saudagar in 1991. She went on to star in iconic films like Bombay, 1942: A Love Story, Dil Se, and Company. After a break, she returned with Lust Stories in 2018 and recently played a powerful role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, which has been renewed for a second season.
