Mamata Releases 10-Point TMC Manifesto

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee released the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) manifesto ahead of April assembly elections. The 10-point agenda emphasizes women’s financial support, housing for all, doorstep healthcare, aid for farmers, safe drinking water, improved school infrastructure, and creation of seven new districts. Banerjee described the plan as a roadmap for the next five years of governance.

Cash Support for Women and Youth

A major highlight is the continuation and enhancement of the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme. Women beneficiaries will now receive ₹1,500 per month for the general category and ₹1,700 for SC/ST families, with an additional ₹500 increase promised. The Banglar Yuba-Sathi scheme will provide ₹1,500 monthly to unemployed youth.

TMC also pledged a ₹30,000 crore agriculture budget to support farmers, including landless families, and modernize the sector.

Doorstep Healthcare and Education Upgrades

The manifesto includes a healthcare initiative called Duare Chikitsa, aiming to deliver services directly to households through annual health camps in every block and town. Banerjee said the program will ensure citizens access quality healthcare without traveling long distances.

Under Banglar Shikshayatan, all government schools will receive comprehensive infrastructure upgrades to improve learning conditions across the state.

Mamata Slams BJP, Warns of Political Interference

Banerjee also criticized the BJP, alleging administrative interference to destabilize Bengal. She warned that forces from across the border might channel money and arms to create unrest, potentially paving the way for “indirect President’s Rule.”

“My appeal to the people of Bengal is to stay united and alert. Do not give in to fear or inducements. Protect Bengal’s unity and ensure a government accountable to the people prevails,” she said.
