Kriti Sanon has spoken out about the gender bias that continues to exist in Bollywood, pointing to the subtle but significant ways women are often treated differently from their male co-stars.
In a candid conversation, she shared that male actors are usually given better cars or bigger rooms than female actors. While she clarified that it’s not about luxury, Kriti said the inequality makes her feel smaller simply because she is a woman.

The actress also highlighted how assistant directors (ADs) often call female actors to the set earlier, while waiting for their male counterparts to arrive later. She revealed that she has personally had to ask ADs not to follow such practices, as they reflect a deeper mindset problem in the industry.
Kriti credited her upbringing for shaping her belief in equality. She recalled how her parents divided responsibilities at home and encouraged her and her sister Nupur to dream freely without restrictions. She added that her mother sacrificed her hobbies just to secure her right to study, a lesson that continues to inspire her.
Currently, Kriti is enjoying the success of her recent project Do Patti and will next be seen in Tere Ishk Mein opposite Dhanush, releasing this November.
