In a disturbing incident from Kolkata’s Kasba area, three individuals including two students and a college staffer—have been arrested for the alleged gangrape of a female college student. The assault reportedly occurred on the night of Wednesday, June 25, when the survivor was allegedly held against her will on college premises until at least 11 PM. Following the incident, the survivor underwent a medical examination at Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital after lodging a formal complaint.

According to police sources, two of the accused were apprehended from the Talbagan area shortly after the complaint was filed. During their interrogation, the identity of the third suspect came to light, leading to his arrest by midnight. All three are currently in police custody, but their identities have not yet been made public. One of the accused, a college staffer, is reportedly a former student of the same institution, as per regional media outlets.
The investigation is currently in its early stages. A forensic team, along with investigating officers, is scheduled to visit the crime scene today to collect evidence. The area around the incident site has been sealed off, and police personnel have been deployed to ensure security and preserve forensic integrity.
