The mortal remains of Ranjitha, a nurse from Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district who tragically lost her life in the Ahmedabad plane disaster, arrived in the state on Tuesday morning. Ranjitha, who had been working in the UK, was identified through a DNA test. Her body reached the Thiruvananthapuram international airport around 7 a.m., where Kerala ministers V Sivankutty and G R Anil, along with senior political leaders including CPI(M) general secretary M A Baby and Congress leader Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, paid their final respects.

From the airport, the coffin was transported to her native village. It was placed at a local school in Pullad, allowing the public to offer their tributes. Her brother and a close relative accompanied her on the final journey, marking a solemn return home for the beloved nurse.
Cremation is scheduled to be held later in the evening at her family residence. Ranjitha, a devoted mother of two, was remembered for her dedication to the nursing profession and her years of service abroad to support her loved ones.
