Keonjhar to Host Its First Bollywood-Level Acting Academy

Keonjhar is about to make history in Odisha’s performing arts scene. The Nirakanta Arts Foundation will launch the region’s first professional acting, theatre, and drama academy this April. The academy offers Bollywood-standard training in acting, on-camera performance, and theatre. Moreover, organizers promise a grand opening with Bollywood stars and notable Odia film personalities, whose names are kept secret to heighten excitement and anticipation.

World-Class Training and Guaranteed Placement

Entrepreneur Abinash Rout founded the academy to connect raw talent with professional opportunities. Supported strongly by his family, he envisions a platform that nurtures local actors to meet real industry standards. In addition, the academy offers 100% placement assistance, allowing students to work on short films, web series, and feature films. They may even gain Bollywood exposure. Faculty members from Mumbai will provide hands-on training, ensuring that students are confident on stage and ready for the camera. Furthermore, networking sessions and industry projects will enhance learning and open new career paths.

Promoting Odisha’s Culture Through Talent

The foundation also aims to showcase Keonjhar’s tribal and cultural heritage globally. By training local performers, it intends to highlight Odisha’s artistic traditions on national and international stages. “Our mission is to empower local talent while promoting culture,” says Abinash Rout. Consequently, early registrations have already shown strong interest among aspiring actors across the region. Meanwhile, the academy is becoming a hub for those seeking professional performing arts education outside major cities.

Vision for Future Expansion

Looking ahead, the Nirakanta Arts Foundation plans to open more academies across Odisha. Additionally, it aims to establish a full-fledged acting college similar to the National School of Drama (NSD). This expansion will provide more students with advanced training, industry exposure, and career opportunities. Finally, the April launch marks the beginning of a cultural transformation in Keonjhar, making the town a key center for performing arts in eastern India. Therefore, the academy promises to shape both talent and the future of regional cinema.
