Actor Kalki Koechlin recently opened up about facing judgment for getting pregnant before marriage and the subtle pressure from her family to marry at a young age. She said that while the pressure wasn’t overwhelming, it was present, and society made a big deal about her pregnancy, using outdated terms like “out of wedlock.”

Kalki defended her decision, explaining that she was in a committed relationship and living with her partner, Israeli musician Guy Hershberg. She called out the hypocrisy in society, pointing out that such situations are completely normal but still seen as taboo. She humorously added, “We do sleep together, by the way. We live together, so it happens.”
Kalki and Guy welcomed their daughter, Sappho, in 2020 and later got married. She was previously married to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. Up next, Kalki will be seen in Emma and Angel, an English-language film about a speech-impaired writer trapped after an earthquake, whose only hope is her dog. The release date is yet to be announced.
