Mojtaba Khamenei Condoles Families Amid Ongoing Conflict
In his Eid al-Fitr and Nowruz message, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, expressed condolences to families of those killed in the conflict. He said the war with Israel and the US “goes far beyond missiles, drones, torpedoes, and battlefields.” Khamenei praised Iran’s “relentless resistance” against what he called “global arrogance,” showing the country’s determination to defend itself.
Eid and Nowruz: Spiritual and National Significance
Khamenei highlighted the rare coincidence of Eid al-Fitr and Nowruz this year. He greeted the nation and called the event the spring of spirituality and the spring of nature. On X, he prayed for better circumstances and guidance. His message reflected both his political and religious roles, following the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, in a US-Israeli strike on February 28.

Iran’s View on Recent Conflicts
Khamenei outlined three major crises from the past year. The first was the 12-day war with Israel in June, which killed about 1,000 Iranians, he claimed. The second was the January protests, which he called the “January Coup.” He said the US and Israel exploited economic problems to destabilize Iran. The third conflict began with a new attack at the end of February, which Tehran described as aggressive.
