As search operations continue for the missing crew member of a downed US Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle, Iran’s diplomatic mission in Pakistan has sparked fresh controversy with a viral response on social media. The sharp exchange comes at a time when the US-Iran war is escalating rapidly, with both sides intensifying rescue and ground search efforts in southwestern Iran.
Iran Embassy’s Remark Goes Viral
In a post on X, Iran’s embassy in Pakistan reacted to a US woman’s emotional appeal for prayers for the two fighter pilots shot down over Iran. The embassy wrote, “Be sure your sons are more in danger with DJ Trump than in custody in Iran,” adding, “Pray he’s kept captive by Iran than found by US rescue teams.” The mission also claimed that Iran, as a “civilised” nation, treats captives “with dignity and respect,” drawing global attention and criticism online.

Missing Pilot Search Expands on Ground
US officials confirmed that the F-15E crashed inside Iran, with one crew member rescued while the second remains missing. Iranian media reports stated Tehran has offered a reward of nearly $66,000 to anyone who captures the missing pilot alive. Officials also said the operation has expanded with the “presence of popular forces and tribesmen alongside military forces.” Mehr news agency quoted deputy governor Fattah Mohammadi, who claimed locals fired rifles at US helicopters and prevented them from landing during rescue attempts.
Trump Issues Fresh 48-Hour Ultimatum
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump refused to reveal details about the rescue mission but said it would not affect peace talks. However, he issued a new ultimatum to Tehran, warning it had 48 hours to strike a deal or face harsh retaliation. “Time is running out — 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them,” Trump posted on Truth Social. Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf mocked Washington, saying the war had shifted from “regime change” to “Can anyone find our pilots?”
Hormuz Crisis Deepens Regional Conflict
The conflict, triggered by US-Israeli strikes over a month ago, has widened into a major regional crisis. Iran’s reported closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for global oil and gas shipments, has intensified concerns over energy supplies and market disruption. With diplomatic tensions rising and military operations spreading, the missing pilot incident has become both a humanitarian concern and a high-profile flashpoint in the ongoing war.
