Alert Message Sparks Anxiety in Iran
Thousands of people in Iran received a mysterious phone alert on Monday that read, “The US President is a man of action. Wait and see,” in Persian. The SMS came from an anonymous number, according to Iran International, which cited state media. The message arrived as US President Donald Trump intensified his rhetoric against Tehran and expanded military deployments in the Middle East. The sudden alert fueled fears of a possible military confrontation.
Trump Signals Possible Military Action
President Trump has warned Iran to abandon its nuclear programme or face consequences. He recently said he is considering a “limited military strike” if Tehran refuses to comply. The US has increased its military presence in the region, deploying aircraft carriers and warships. Reports also suggest the US embassy in Lebanon evacuated several staff members as a precaution. Meanwhile, Washington and Tehran plan to hold another round of nuclear talks in Geneva on Thursday under Omani mediation.

Iran Responds, Diplomacy Still on Table
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said he sees a “good chance” for diplomacy. However, he warned that Iran would respond “ferociously” to any US attack. Tehran insists its nuclear programme serves civilian purposes. Western nations believe Iran seeks nuclear weapons capability. US negotiator Steve Witkoff questioned why Iran has not yielded despite Washington’s military buildup. The European Union also urged restraint, calling for dialogue instead of another regional conflict.
Protests and Rising Regional Tensions
Internal unrest continues inside Iran. Students resumed anti-government protests as the new academic term began. Videos shared online showed demonstrators chanting against the regime in Tehran. Human rights groups report thousands of deaths during recent crackdowns, though Iranian authorities dispute those figures. Regional tensions have also prompted countries like India, Sweden, Serbia, Poland, and Australia to advise citizens to leave Iran. As military pressure grows and diplomacy continues, the coming days could prove critical for US-Iran relations.
