Social media influencer and TikTok star Kirti Patel, who had been absconding for over a year, was arrested by Surat Police in Sarkhej, Ahmedabad. She was wanted in connection with multiple criminal cases, including a high-profile extortion case involving builder Vaju Katrodiya. According to the police, Kirti, along with co-accused Vijay Savani, allegedly tried to extort ₹2 crore from Katrodiya by creating defamatory social media content, including reels and live videos, in which she verbally abused and threatened him and his family. A case in this matter was registered at Kapodara police station on June 2, 2024, naming five accused, including Kirti.

To evade arrest, Kirti reportedly changed locations frequently across Gujarat and employed tactics such as altering IP addresses, switching SIM cards, and repeatedly turning her phone on and off. Despite her efforts to remain untraceable, police tracked her down after a warrant was issued against her by a local court. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Alok Kumar confirmed that she remained active on Instagram even while on the run, often using the same device but different numbers to maintain her anonymity online.
In addition to the extortion case, several other complaints—including charges of assault and land grabbing—have been filed against Kirti Patel. Authorities are now urging the public to come forward with any further information or complaints related to her alleged misconduct. Kirti will be produced before the court, and the investigation into her involvement in other cases is ongoing.
