India Crush England by 100 Runs to Win Record 6th U19 World Cup Title

India produced a dominant performance to defeat England by 100 runs in the Under-19 World Cup final, clinching their record-extending sixth title. Batting first after winning the toss, the Indian colts posted a historic total of 411/9, the highest ever in a U19 World Cup final. The victory underlined India’s supremacy at the junior level and showcased the depth of young talent in the country. Despite a fighting effort from England’s Caleb Falconer, the target proved too steep, and India sealed a memorable triumph.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s 175 Powers India to Record Total

The highlight of India’s innings was Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s sensational knock of 175 runs, which ranks among the greatest innings in Under-19 World Cup history. The 14-year-old prodigy smashed 13 sixes and 13 fours, narrowly missing a historic double century. He also created history by scoring a century in just 55 balls in a World Cup final. Earlier, captain Ayush Mhatre supported him with a composed 53, as the duo stitched together a crucial 142-run partnership. Later, Kanishk Chouhan’s quickfire 37 helped India cross the 400-run mark.

England’s Chase Falters After Promising Start

In reply, England began positively and looked competitive early on. However, a dramatic collapse changed the course of the match. From a stable 93/1, England slipped to 177/7, losing six wickets in quick succession. India’s bowlers maintained pressure and took regular wickets, preventing any sustained partnership. RS Ambrish and Deepesh Devendran claimed two wickets each, while Khilan Patel, Kanishk Chauhan, and Ayush Mhatre chipped in effectively. Although Caleb Falconer scored a brave century, his effort only delayed the inevitable.

Young Indian Colts Shine on Global Stage

India’s emphatic win reflected their all-round excellence in batting, bowling, and fielding. Sooryavanshi’s fearless approach and record-breaking performance symbolised the new generation’s confidence. Meanwhile, the team’s disciplined bowling ensured that England never regained control. This triumph not only added another trophy to India’s cabinet but also highlighted the country’s strong grassroots system. With emerging stars like Sooryavanshi and Mhatre leading the way, India’s future in world cricket looks exceptionally bright.
