Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that India is swiftly progressing toward becoming the world’s third-largest economy, with significant advancements across various sectors over the past 11 years. Speaking at the 16th Rozgar Mela, he highlighted the manufacturing sector as one of the nation’s key strengths, noting the government’s active efforts to enhance employment opportunities, particularly in the private sector.

To further boost job creation, the government recently introduced the Employment Linked Incentive scheme, which offers ₹15,000 to youth securing their first private-sector job. With a budget allocation of around ₹1 lakh crore, this initiative aims to generate approximately 3.5 crore new jobs. Additionally, the government has launched Mission Manufacturing and reinforced the Make in India campaign to stimulate growth and employment within the manufacturing industry.

The Prime Minister also pointed out the remarkable expansion in electronics, mobile phone production, and defence manufacturing. From just a handful of mobile phone units earlier, the number has surged to 300, employing thousands of young people. The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme alone has created 11 lakh jobs, with the electronics sector now manufacturing goods worth ₹11 lakh crore—reflecting a more than fivefold growth in just over a decade.
