Forced Marriage and Abuse Allegations
Haseen Mastan Mirza, who says she is the daughter of the late underworld figure Haji Mastan, has approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for justice. She says her family forced her to marry her maternal uncle’s son in 1996, when she was still a minor. She alleges that he raped her, abused her and used her identity to take over her property. Haseen also claims that the man had eight marriages before her and that she attempted suicide three times due to the trauma.
Appeal Through Social Media
Last week, Haseen posted a video on Instagram describing her long struggle for justice. She says she received no help from her relatives or the authorities. She also says she lived in isolation and did not know about her father’s death until two years after her marriage. Haseen praised the triple talaq law passed by the Modi government and said it protected many women. She urged the Centre to bring stronger laws that ensure quick action in cases of child marriage, identity theft, and sexual violence. “If laws are strict, people will think twice before committing crimes,” she said.

Clarification on Haji Mastan’s Name
Haseen asked the public not to link her father to the case. She said all incidents took place after his death in 1994. Hearing people bring up his name in this context hurts her, she said. According to Haseen, Haji Mastan lived with dignity, and she follows the values he taught. She added that people targeted her several times in the past and even tried to kill her.
Call for Stronger Legal Action
Haseen repeated that she faced child marriage, rape, identity concealment and an attempt to murder. She said she and her mother faced pressure from relatives and had no support. She now wants the central government to create a law that guarantees immediate justice for victims like her. Her plea has drawn fresh attention, and she hopes the top leadership intervenes soon.
