Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, hit theaters last Friday with high expectations. The film, a spiritual sequel to the 2018 hit Dhadak, is a remake of the Tamil movie Pariyerum Perumal. It has received mostly positive reviews and has earned over ₹11 crore at the box office so far. On its third day, Dhadak 2 collected ₹4.25 crore, adding to ₹3.5 crore on opening day and ₹3.75 crore on the second day, bringing the total to around ₹11.5 crore.

The movie faces tough competition from several other releases, including Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2, the animated film Mahavatar Narsimha, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s Saiyaara, and Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom. Interestingly, Saiyaara, now in its third week, outperformed Dhadak 2 on Sunday by collecting ₹8 crore. Saiyaara has also crossed the ₹300 crore mark in India, establishing itself as a blockbuster.

Dhadak 2 tells the story of a law student who falls in love with his classmate but faces harassment from her family due to caste differences. Actress Triptii Dimri shared that the film carries an important message while remaining entertaining. She emphasized the team’s responsibility in handling the film’s sensitive subject and noted that they stayed quiet about issues like censor board challenges during filming to keep the focus on the story.
