Horror Call Before Death
A 27-year-old Delhi Police constable from the SWAT unit died after an alleged assault by her husband, shocking the capital. Kajal Chaudhary’s final moments unfolded during a phone call with her brother, who heard her in distress. The incident happened at her Dwarka Mor home. Doctors later declared her dead at a private hospital in Ghaziabad. The case has again raised concern about domestic violence, even among trained officers.
Brother Heard Her Screams
Kajal’s brother Nikhil said Ankur Chaudhary called him around 10 pm on January 22 during an argument. Kajal briefly took the phone and tried to explain her situation. However, Ankur grabbed the phone back. Nikhil claimed Ankur asked him to record the call and then threatened to kill Kajal. Soon after, Nikhil heard Kajal crying and screaming. The call then disconnected. Five minutes later, Ankur allegedly called again and said Kajal had died. He asked the family to reach the hospital.

Details of the Assault
Family members said Ankur attacked Kajal with a metal dumbbell and hit her head against a door frame. Police have not released full medical findings yet. However, officers confirmed a violent fight occurred. Investigators now review call logs, medical reports and witness accounts. Police have started legal action against the husband. Questioning continues as officers piece together the timeline.
Dowry Harassment Allegations
Kajal’s family accused her husband and in-laws of dowry harassment and abuse. Nikhil said Kajal faced pressure even during pregnancy. She also handled household work after long police shifts. He recalled an earlier incident when Ankur slapped her but later apologised. The couple’s young son now stays with Kajal’s parents. Meanwhile, police continue their probe and promise strict action based on evidence. The case has renewed calls for stronger safeguards against domestic violence.
