Delhi Capitals Slammed Again as Fans Lose Hope After CSK Defeat
New Delhi: Delhi Capitals have once again left their fans disappointed in IPL 2026. For the second match in a row, the team showed no fight. Instead of improving, they looked worse with every passing over.
After failing to chase a small target against Gujarat Titans earlier, Delhi Capitals delivered another dull performance on Saturday night. This time, they lost to Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk Stadium.
CSK had entered the match without a win this season. Yet, DC failed to take advantage.
Costly Errors Changed the Game
Delhi Capitals made two major mistakes in the 10th over, which shifted the match completely.
First, KL Rahul missed a simple run-out chance. He failed to collect the ball cleanly. That mistake gave Ayush Mhatre a lifeline when he was on 9. The youngster later scored 59 and punished DC badly.
In the same over, Pathum Nissanka dropped a catch. Sanju Samson took full advantage and went on to score an unbeaten 115.
Despite all the missed chances, CSK finished at 212/2. Many experts called it a chaseable score in modern T20 cricket. However, Delhi Capitals never looked confident.

Rahul and Miller Fail to Deliver
Fans expected KL Rahul and David Miller to step up after the Gujarat match failure. But once again, both failed.
Miller struggled with the bat and looked out of form. He even dropped a catch off Mukesh Kumar’s bowling, adding to DC’s poor fielding show.
KL Rahul also failed to inspire the team. Many fans questioned his intent. They claimed he lacked aggression and urgency in key moments.
Fans Angry Over Lack of Accountability
However, the biggest criticism did not stop with the players. Many fans blamed the franchise management for Delhi’s repeated failures.
Before the IPL season started, DC held a press conference in New Delhi. Captain Axar Patel, coach Hemang Badani, and director Venugopal Rao attended it.
But the event left fans unimpressed. Many felt the officials treated the season casually. When asked why DC have never won an IPL title, Rao gave a light-hearted response. He said the complaints would end once they won one time.
Axar Patel also appeared relaxed. He said the team never discusses the fact that DC have never won the IPL. Fans saw that as a major concern. Many believe a team must feel pressure to achieve greatness.
Delhi Capitals Called a ‘Hopeless Franchise’
Delhi Capitals had started IPL 2026 with two wins. But critics claim those victories came only because the opponents played poorly.
Since then, DC have collapsed again. Their performances have shown no consistency or hunger. Fans now believe the franchise lacks a winning culture.
Many supporters have openly called Delhi Capitals a franchise with “no accountability.” They feel the team plays without pride and breaks fan expectations every season.
With the tournament moving forward, DC’s campaign already looks in serious trouble.
