New Delhi | November 10, 2025:
A high-intensity car bomb explosion near Red Fort Metro Station (Lal Qila) on Monday evening has killed at least eight people and injured several others, according to officials. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Delhi Police Special Cell have cordoned off the area and launched a joint investigation.

The blast occurred near Gate No. 1 of Red Fort Metro Station, triggering a massive fire that engulfed nearby vehicles and shattered glass windows in the vicinity. Thick plumes of smoke were seen rising above the heritage site, causing panic among locals and tourists.

At least seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and anti-terror squads are currently examining the debris to determine the composition of the explosive.

Officials confirmed that the explosion happened just hours after police seized 360 kg of suspected ammonium nitrate and a cache of arms from a Faridabad residence linked to a Kashmiri academic, raising fears of a possible terror link.

Security across Delhi has been tightened, with NIA teams scanning CCTV footage and traffic movement near the Red Fort area.
