Who Is Nitin Nabin? Political Roots and Early Career

Nitin Nabin is the son of the late BJP leader Nabin Kishore Prasad Sinha, a four-time Bihar Assembly legislator. He entered politics in 2006 after his father’s death. Soon after, he reportedly won a by-election from Patna West. Since then, Nabin has steadily risen within the party. Over the years, he has gained recognition as a disciplined organiser and effective grassroots leader. As a result, his elevation reflects the BJP’s emphasis on political continuity combined with organisational efficiency.

Unanimous Backing and JP Nadda’s Tenure Ends

Notably, Nitin Nabin secured unanimous support within the party. A total of 37 sets of nomination papers backed his candidacy. Senior leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Dharmendra Pradhan, Bhupendra Yadav, Kiren Rijiju, Hardeep Puri, and JP Nadda, proposed his name. Meanwhile, JP Nadda concluded his tenure as BJP national president, a post he assumed on January 20, 2020. Initially appointed as working president, he later received a full term, which the party extended until June 2024. During his tenure, Nadda focused on organisational expansion and election management across states.
