Actor Aamir Khan, currently receiving praise for his latest release Sitaare Zameen Par, will attend the 16th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) as the official Chief Guest. The festival, running from August 14 to 24, will feature a special retrospective honoring Aamir’s contributions to Indian cinema, culminating in a spotlight event on Sitaare Zameen Par, followed by a live conversation with director RS Prasanna.

Expressing his excitement, Aamir said, “I’m humbled and thrilled to be a part of IFFM. I look forward to engaging with audiences and sharing stories that celebrate the power of films. With Sitaare Zameen Par, we aimed to tell a story embracing inclusivity and neurodivergence, and I’m grateful for the love it has received.”
Festival Director Mitu Bhowmick Lange said, “It’s an honour to have Aamir Khan join us. His work reflects sensitivity, depth, and a fearless commitment to storytelling. He’s used cinema as a tool for social change, and his journey continues to inspire generations.”
