Anant Ambani, the youngest son of India’s richest billionaire Mukesh Ambani and philanthropist Nita Ambani, tied the knot with Radhika Merchant on July 12, 2024, in Mumbai. The wedding was a lavish spectacle, marked by a series of opulent celebrations held across India and Europe. From couture outfits and dazzling jewellery to star-studded performances by international icons like Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Justin Bieber, the festivities redefined extravagance.

As reported by The Wall Street Journal on June 18, globally acclaimed event designer Preston Bailey, known for orchestrating grand weddings including that of Ivanka Trump and previous Ambani events, played a key role in curating this high-profile affair. In interviews with insiders like Bailey and others familiar with the luxury wedding circuit, the report revealed the astronomical fees charged by top-tier artists for such events. It was noted that Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber was reportedly paid a staggering $10 million to perform at the wedding, though a representative for the singer declined to comment.

Commenting on the rising demand for entertainment at upscale weddings, Bailey remarked, “Even the DJs charge a million dollars.” The report highlighted how elite DJs such as Gryffin and Martin Solveig are increasingly sought after to bring an Ibiza-style nightclub vibe to wedding afterparties. With such names commanding hefty fees, it’s evident that music and spectacle are now integral to the modern luxury wedding experience.
