Where Is Mojtaba Khamenei? Russian Envoy Clears the Air on Iran Leader’s Location

The US-Israel-Iran war has now completed one month, but the world has not seen Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei in public. He has released multiple statements and messages, yet he has avoided public appearances. This absence has triggered global speculation. Mojtaba took charge after his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, died during the joint US-Israeli strikes on February 28.

Russia Says Mojtaba Is in Iran, Not in Russia

Many reports claimed Mojtaba travelled to Russia for treatment after suffering injuries. Russia has now denied these rumours. The Russian ambassador to Iran told local media that Mojtaba remains inside Iran. He added that the leader is staying away from public view for “understandable reasons.” Earlier, Iran’s envoy to Moscow also rejected claims of any airlift to Russia.

US Claims Injuries, Tehran Rejects Death Rumours

The United States has claimed that Mojtaba suffered serious injuries in the attacks. Some US officials even suggested he may be “badly wounded” and “disfigured.” US President Donald Trump has also hinted that the Iranian leader may have died. However, Iran has strongly denied these claims. Reports say agencies like the CIA and Mossad continue to track his location.

War Escalates as US Strikes Isfahan

The war continues to intensify, with no clear sign of a ceasefire. Washington claims talks with Iran are progressing, but Tehran denies holding any negotiations. Trump announced a pause on attacks on Iranian energy sites until April 6. Despite this, the US reportedly struck Isfahan with a 960kg bunker-buster bomb. US defence secretary Pete Hegseth also said the US is closely watching Russia and China’s actions involving Iran.
