Acting on intelligence inputs, a cyber crime team conducted a targeted raid in Sihor, Bhavnagar (Gujarat), and successfully apprehended two key suspects, identified as Vaghela and Gohli. The accused were brought to Odisha on transit remand and produced before the Court of SDJM, Bhubaneswar for further legal proceedings.

The case originated from a complaint lodged on August 20, 2024, by a resident of Bhubaneswar. The victim reported being duped by cyber criminals posing as officials from DHL, the Mumbai Crime Branch, and other government agencies. Between August 9 and 14, the fraudsters accused the victim of involvement in criminal activities using his Aadhaar details, placing him under constant video surveillance and isolating him in a hotel room under threat of arrest and public humiliation.

Under psychological pressure and deception, the victim was coerced into sharing sensitive personal and financial information. The accused convinced him to liquidate his investments and transfer a total of ₹1,08,32,000 under the pretense of verifying his accounts and obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NoC). Upon realizing the elaborate scam, the victim promptly filed an FIR with the Cyber Crime Police Station.
