IFTDA Condemns Firing Outside Rohit Shetty’s Mumbai Residence

Mumbai: The Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) strongly condemned the firing incident outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence on Sunday. The incident shook the film industry and raised fresh concerns over celebrity safety in Mumbai. Although no one suffered injuries, the incident triggered immediate police action. Officers quickly increased security around Shetty’s residential complex to prevent any further threat.

IFTDA Urges CM Devendra Fadnavis to Intervene

In a formal statement, the IFTDA expressed serious concern over the incident and appealed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for personal intervention. The association said the firing created fear and insecurity within the film fraternity. It urged the state government to take strict action against the culprits. The IFTDA also said it trusted the Mumbai Police to identify those responsible and ensure complete protection for Rohit Shetty and his family.

Police Launch Intensive Probe Into Incident

Mumbai Police swung into action soon after the firing. According to officials, assailants fired four rounds outside the filmmaker’s home during the early hours of Sunday. Police teams sealed the area and forensic experts collected evidence from the spot. The Mumbai Crime Branch formed 12 special teams to track down the suspects. Acting on leads, Pune Police detained five suspects and handed them over to the Mumbai Crime Branch for further questioning.

Film Industry Rallies Behind Rohit Shetty

The IFTDA reaffirmed its full support for Rohit Shetty and his family during this period. The association stressed that such incidents must not weaken the confidence of the entertainment industry. Rohit Shetty remains one of Bollywood’s most successful directors, known for hit franchises like Golmaal and Singham. The incident has also renewed calls for stronger security measures for film personalities. Police officials have assured strict monitoring and continued protection in the area.
