Trump Repeats Mediation Claims at Davos

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday again claimed he helped settle eight international conflicts, including the India-Pakistan conflict. He made the remarks during a special address at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland. The statement drew attention because India has repeatedly rejected claims of third-party mediation. Trump has made similar assertions several times in the past.

Trump Cites Armenia-Azerbaijan Conflict

While addressing global leaders, Trump said he had worked on a major war for a year. During that period, he claimed to have resolved eight other conflicts. “I settled eight other wars, including India-Pakistan,” Trump said. He also referred to the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict. Trump claimed Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed disbelief over its resolution. According to Trump, that conflict lasted for more than 35 years.

India Maintains Clear Stand on Mediation

India has firmly denied Trump’s repeated mediation claims. New Delhi has maintained that all issues with Pakistan remain bilateral. The government has also stated that it does not accept third-party involvement. Despite this position, Trump has continued to mention India-Pakistan in his speeches. His remarks have often triggered diplomatic clarification from Indian officials.

Trump Revives Greenland Remarks

Trump also revisited his comments on Greenland during the Davos address. He said the United States would not use force over the territory. However, he described Greenland as a massive sheet of ice rather than land. Trump said its location holds strategic value between the US, China, and Russia. These remarks revived debate over his earlier statements on Greenland.

The World Economic Forum, running from January 19 to January 23, 2026, has provided a platform for Trump to restate key foreign policy claims. His comments have generated debate among global leaders and analysts alike.
