Hema Malini Prayer Meets Spark Family Speculation

Following the death of veteran actor Dharmendra on November 24, Hema Malini prayer meets were held to honour his memory. One was hosted by Hema Malini and her daughters at her Mumbai residence, while Dharmendra’s sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol, organised another event attended by Bollywood stars. As a result, rumours about a family rift began circulating. However, Hema Malini clarified that the separate prayer meets reflected personal and professional considerations, not any tension between the families.

Actress Explains Her Prayer Meets in Mumbai and Delhi

In an interview with The Times of India, Hema Malini explained, “Yeh humare ghar ka personal mamla hai (this is our family’s personal matter). We spoke to each other. I held a prayer meet at my home because my circle of people is different. Then I organised one in Delhi because I am in politics, and it was important for me to host a prayer meeting there for my friends from that field. Mathura is my constituency, and the people there are very fond of him. So I held a prayer meet there as well. I am happy with what I did.” She emphasised that the prayer meets addressed both personal and professional obligations, rather than family discord.

Family Legacy Highlighted Through Prayer Events

Hema Malini also shared that Sunny Deol plans to convert Dharmendra’s farmhouse into a museum to preserve his legacy. She reassured everyone about family unity, saying, “Everything is happening nicely. So there’s no need to worry ki yeh do alag families hai, pata nahi kya hoga. Kisiko itni fikr karne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Hum log ekdum achche hai (these are two different families, what will happen now? No one needs to worry that much. We are all fine).” Moreover, these prayer events highlighted the families’ respect and mutual support.

Remembering Dharmendra Through Prayer Meets

Dharmendra passed away at 89 in Mumbai. His sons Sunny and Bobby Deol hosted a prayer meet on November 27, attended by stars like Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. Hema Malini and her daughters arranged additional prayer meets in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Mathura. Finally, these events celebrated Dharmendra’s life while allowing both sides of the family to honour him. He leaves behind two wives: Prakash Kaur, with four children, and Hema Malini, with daughters Esha and Ahana Deol.
