Elon Musk has once again sparked controversy online, this time by urging people to cancel their Netflix subscriptions. On Wednesday, he repeatedly posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying things like “Cancel Netflix” and even “Cancel Netflix for the health of your kids.” These remarks came after Musk himself canceled his own subscription, taking a direct swipe at the streaming giant.

The backlash started when Musk reshared a post from another user who claimed they had canceled Netflix because the company employed “someone who celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk.” Musk appeared to agree with the criticism and doubled down on the call to boycott the platform.
The issue stems from comments made by Hamish Steele, the creator of Netflix’s animated series Dead End: Paranormal Park. After conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot dead, Steele shared a profanity-filled post on Bluesky, calling Kirk a “nazi.” Many people online accused Steele of mocking Kirk’s death and using offensive language, which fueled Musk’s anger against Netflix.
