Harbhajan Singh has finally broken his silence on the release of the infamous 2008 slapgate video, which was made public by former IPL chairman Lalit Modi. The video, revealed during Modi’s chat on Michael Clarke’s podcast, shows Harbhajan slapping Sreesanth after a match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab, sparking fresh discussions about the long-forgotten incident.

Reacting to the leak, Harbhajan expressed disappointment, calling it unnecessary and motivated. He told Instant Bollywood, “The way the video has been leaked, it’s wrong. Something that happened years ago, people had moved on, but they are reminding everyone about it. I feel there’s a selfish motive behind this.” He also admitted feeling ashamed about the incident, saying mistakes happen in the heat of the game.

The original footage was never aired back in 2008, as broadcasters cut to commercials during the altercation. Now, with the video resurfacing, Harbhajan insists it should have been left in the past. What’s your take should old controversies stay buried.
