The Indian Army successfully stopped an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials reported on Wednesday. The operation involved a clash near Tikka Post, with militants believed to be supported by Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT). Unfortunately, one Indian soldier was killed during the exchange of fire, although the army has yet to officially confirm the casualty.

This incident follows the recent death of Sepoy Banoth Anil Kumar, who lost his life while on duty along the LoC in Baramulla. The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps paid tribute to his bravery and expressed condolences to his family, honoring his sacrifice in service to the nation. Meanwhile, fighting continues along the border as security forces remain vigilant against infiltration attempts.

Just days earlier, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi mourned the deaths of two soldiers, Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh, during anti-terror operations in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The Integrated Defence Staff extended their deepest condolences to the families, saluting the soldiers’ ultimate sacrifice and reaffirming their support during these difficult times.
