Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Operation Sindoor for showing the world how India firmly protects its sovereignty. Speaking at an event in Tamil Nadu commemorating the birth anniversary of the Chola emperor Rajendra Chola-I, Modi said the military strike sent a clear message that terrorists and enemies of India have no safe place to hide. The operation, carried out on May 7, 2025, targeted terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the deadly Pahalgam attack.

Modi highlighted how the operation has sparked a renewed sense of confidence and pride across the country. He shared that during his visit to the event, people praised the operation enthusiastically, reflecting widespread public support. He emphasized that the world must recognize India’s growing strength.
In addition to discussing the operation, Modi spoke about the historical significance of the Chola rulers, Raja Raja Chola and Rajendra Chola-I, whose names remain symbols of India’s identity and pride. He announced plans to build grand statues of both emperors in Tamil Nadu as “modern pillars” celebrating India’s rich heritage. Modi also pointed out India’s ancient democratic traditions, noting that the Chola-era Kudavolai system, used over a thousand years ago, preceded even the Magna Carta in promoting democratic governance.
